Four brownies stacked up and topped with whipped cream and a single strawberry.

Make them once and you’ll see that these 2-ingredient brownies are the ultimate lazy girl dessert hack, and yes, they absolutely taste like brownies.

Why You’ll Love This Brownies Recipe

  • Fudgy and Rich. You’d never guess these were made without the usual brownie ingredients. The brownies still bake up moist, chocolatey, and totally irresistible.
  • Minimal Effort, Maximum Reward. When you want something sweet but don’t feel like baking from scratch, this recipe saves the day every time.

How To Make These 2 Ingredient Brownies

Skinny Brownies | www.diethood.com

Many moons ago, one of my aunts owned a bread bakery. She had a couple of baking secrets that she shared with me and one of those secrets was using carbonated drinks with cake mixes. She only sold bread and savory pastries in her bakery, but at home she rocked the cake mixes!

I had this Pillsbury Brownie Mix sitting up on one of my pantry shelves and I decided to use my aunt’s suggestion. So I poured the Sprite into the brownie mix, gave it a whisk or two, and popped it in the oven. What came out of the oven is what I least expected – tall, soft, springy, fudgy, delicious brownies! I was incredibly excited about the results, thus I went back to buy some more mixes and share the recipe with you, of course!

Recipe Tips

  • Don’t overmix. Just whisk until the lumps are gone. Overmixing can make the brownies dense instead of fudgy.
  • Stick with a fudge-style mix. Brownie mixes labeled “fudge” or “chewy” work best for that rich, moist texture. Avoid ones that say “cakey.”
  • Let them cool completely. These need time to set before slicing. If you cut too soon, they’ll fall apart.
  • Use foil for easy removal. Lining the pan with foil makes it so much easier to lift them out and cut clean squares.
  • Tweak the flavor. Mix things up and try using a flavored soda like cherry cola or root beer.

Proper Storage

  • On the counter or refrigerator: Once cooled, store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. If you want them to last longer, store them in the fridge and they’ll keep for about a week.
  • To freeze: Wrap individual squares in plastic wrap and store them in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 2 months. Thaw on the counter when that chocolate craving hits.

          Hi!
I have not tested this recipe with adding any fruits to it (or anything else, for that matter) so I can’t say 100% if it will work or not.
