This lovely, festive recipe for Christmas Mimosas blends diced green apples, fresh cranberries, and pomegranate seeds with Prosecco and Chambord. It’s a truly celebratory holiday cocktail!
Christmas Mimosa Recipe
We’re all about drinks that taste as good as they look, especially during the holidays. This Christmas Mimosa is a total winner in that department – it’s as colorful and joyful as a string of Christmas lights! The Prosecco brings the fizz, keeping things light and bubbly. Toss in some Chambord, and you’ve got a touch of sweet raspberry flavor plus that rich, red holiday color. Now, add those apples, cranberries, and pomegranate seeds, and boom – it’s a Christmas party in a glass! Every sip is like a bite of all the good stuff from the holiday season. Here’s to making the holidays bright, bubbly, and super tasty with this easy-peasy Christmas Mimosa. Cheers!
Ingredients For Christmas Mimosas
These ingredients are typically very easy to find and prepare, but if you need to make substitutions, that’s fine, too! The recipe is very flexible.
- Apples: You’ll need two fresh, firm Granny Smith (or other green) apples, washed, cored, and diced.
- Cranberries: Widely available, fresh cranberries add a wonderfully festive color. You could also use fresh tangerines, washed and cut into small wedges.
- Pomegranate Seeds: You can remove the seeds (also called arils) from one pomegranate or buy a container of ready-to-eat pomegranate seeds.
- Prosecco: You’ll need one bottle (750 ml) of your favorite Prosecco. You can also use a good champagne here, if you’d like! Double up on the booze if you have to, either for a party, or for just the two of you. 🥂
- Chambord: Add a splash of Chambord (or any other red-colored liqueur) to each glass for color, or omit if you wish.
- Rosemary Sprigs: For garnish.
How To Make Christmas Mimosas
This bubbly drink has to be your go-to drink for some holiday cheer! Think crisp green apples, fresh cranberries, and juicy pomegranate seeds taking a dip into bubbly Prosecco, topped off with a dash of Chambord. It’s like Christmas in a glass – fun, festive, and tasty. As with a regular mimosa, this is a simple recipe that you can make in a pitcher or punch bowl, and serve accordingly. I like to serve it in pretty champagne coupe glasses.
- Place Fruit in Pitcher: In a punch bowl or pitcher, combine the prepared apples, cranberries, and pomegranate seeds.
- Add Sparkling Wine: Pour in the Prosecco and stir gently. For a non-alcoholic version, you can use white sparkling grape juice and add a splash of cranberry juice instead of Chambord.
- Serve: Pour the mimosas into glasses, adding a splash of Chambord to each glass, if desired. Garnish with sprigs of rosemary and serve. Sip and enjoy!
What To Serve With Mimosas
Wondering what to munch on while enjoying these Christmas cocktails? Here are some of my favorite snacks to serve with cranberry mimosas.
- Eggs & Salmon: Luxurious Eggs Benedict gets an extra-flavorful twist with the addition of smoked salmon with this eggs halifax recipe.
- Stuffed Mushrooms: Another classic appetizer, stuffed mushrooms make a nice savory dish alongside these festive mimosas. Try my caprese stuffed mushrooms for a combination that can’t be beat!
- Mixed Nuts: If you’d like something a little more interesting than ordinary mixed nuts, try my vanilla spiced nuts for an easy and festive snack or these cinnamon-sugar roasted pumpkin seeds.
- Fries: Believe it or not, fries pair really well with champagne and champagne-type drinks. Pair the Christmas Mimosas with my parmesan truffle fries and see it to believe it!
Variations
There are plenty of ways to change up this recipe and try something new! You can make it more classic or crank up the holiday cheer even more.
- Traditional: Want to simplify this drink? A traditional mimosa is made with about two cups of orange juice and a bottle of Prosecco or champagne. You can’t go wrong!
- Pomegranate: You can focus more on the pomegranate flavor by combining a bottle of Prosecco with two cups of pomegranate juice. Pour over the diced apples and pomegranate seeds, and serve.
- Poinsettia: Another popular mimosa spinoff, this one even sounds Christmassy! Combine equal parts cranberry juice and Prosecco, and add a splash of orange liqueur to each serving. I like to garnish this one with fresh oranges or tangerines cut into small wedges and fresh cranberries.
Can I Make This Holiday Cocktail Ahead?
You can definitely prepare most of the mimosa ahead of time by washing and preparing the fruit, setting out the glasses and rosemary sprigs, and chilling the wine. However, you shouldn’t open and pour the Prosecco until you’re ready to serve, or it will start to go flat. Also, keep in mind that cut apples tend to turn brown quickly, so to avoid that, you may want to keep them in a bowl of water and lemon juice. Drain just before using.
How To Make Mimosas Without Alcohol
You can use a non-alcoholic sparkling wine instead of the Prosecco and add cranberry juice instead of Chambord. Then, proceed with the rest of the recipe. It’s a great way to have a super-festive Christmas cocktail that everyone can enjoy!
ENJOY!

Notes
- Chill Ingredients First: Have all your ingredients well-chilled before making the mimosas to ensure they’re refreshing and crisp.
- Quality Prosecco: Use a good quality Prosecco. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but the better the quality, the better the overall taste of your mimosa.
- Adjust to Taste: Feel free to adjust the quantities of the ingredients according to your preference. If you like it sweeter, add more Chambord, or use less for a tarter flavor.
- Fresh Fruit: Use fresh fruit to get the most flavor. Combining green apples, cranberries, and pomegranate seeds adds a refreshing and festive touch.
- Garnish: Consider garnishing the rim of the glasses with sugar or crushed candy canes for an extra festive touch.
- Serve Immediately: Mimosas are best enjoyed immediately. The Prosecco can lose its fizz, and the fresh fruit can become soggy if left to sit for too long.
- Glassware: Use champagne flutes or wine glasses to serve the mimosas. The shape of the glass can enhance the drinking experience.
- Variations: You can experiment with other fruits and liqueurs to create your unique version of a Christmas mimosa.

Canโt wait to try this drink! What did you rim the glasses with?
Hi!
I dipped the rim in prosecco first and then dipped it in sugar. ๐
