This Hibiscus Iced Tea Sparkler is a refreshing and delicious drink made with hibiscus tea and sparkling water. Garnished with fresh strawberries and mint, it’s a bright and flavorful sip!
A Refreshing Hibiscus Iced Tea Drink
This easy hibiscus iced tea recipe is perfect for spring and summer! With gorgeous colors, healthy ingredients, and a refreshing flavor, there’s nothing quite like sipping on this beautiful drink on a scorching day.
This hibiscus drink is kind of a/sort of a/not really inspired by Starbucks’ Very Berry Hibiscus drink, a.k.a. Hibiscus Iced Tea Sparkler. Yes, I know theirs doesn’t “sparkler”, but mine does and it is WAY better than theirs. Swear.
Why You’ll Love This Hibiscus Iced Tea
- Easy. You won’t need complicated techniques or hard-to-find ingredients for this recipe. Just grab some hibiscus tea bags (available at most grocery stores) and a few other pantry staples. The entire recipe can be summed up like this: steep, mix, chill, and serve!
- Refreshing & gorgeous. This is the perfect drink for a sweltering day when you want a cool drink that’s more interesting than plain iced water. The finished hibiscus tea has a tangy taste and sweetness from added honey. Plus, this drink is gorgeous! I know that doesn’t impact how it tastes, but it doesn’t hurt either right?
- Good For You. Hibiscus tea has a lot of antioxidants that do amazing things for your health! I’ve added more info on that below.
Is Hibiscus Good For You?
Yes! Hibiscus tea is good for you. It is rich in antioxidants, which help protect your body against stress and cell damage caused by free radicals. And if that wasn’t good enough, hibiscus tea keeps you hydrated! Plus, it has a refreshing taste that makes it a great choice for a healthy drink.
What Does Hibiscus Taste Like?
Hibiscus tea is known for its tart and tangy taste, often described as refreshing and slightly sour. Some people also detect fruity or citrusy notes in the flavor. The taste can vary depending on the concentration of the tea and any additional ingredients or sweeteners used. If you’re looking for even more ways to sample hibiscus, I also use it in this Sorrel Drink (Jamaican Hibiscus Punch)!
In this hibiscus iced tea recipe, we’re adding honey to offset the sourness and add notes of sweetness. You can also use maple syrup! And, of course, feel free to adjust how much is used if you want even more sweetness.

Serving Suggestions
Want something to nosh on while enjoying this iced tea? I totally agree, some munchies are needed. Here are some of my favorite ideas:
- Finger Sandwiches: Prepare bite-sized sandwiches with a variety of fillings like cucumber and cream cheese, chicken salad, or smoked salmon. They’re light, easy to eat, and go well with a chilled glass of iced tea.
- Bruschetta: Top toasted baguette slices with diced tomatoes, basil, garlic, and a drizzle of olive oil.
- Caprese Skewers: Skewer fresh cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and basil leaves. Drizzle with balsamic glaze or a light vinaigrette. Or you can make a Macedonian version, and use red grapes instead of tomatoes.
- Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers: It really doesn’t get more delicious than crunchy, spicy jalapeños stuffed with melty cheese.
- Crudité Platter: Arrange an assortment of fresh, crunchy vegetables such as carrot sticks, cucumber slices, bell pepper strips, and cherry tomatoes. Serve them with a flavorful dip like hummus, taratur sauce, or tzatziki.
- Corn salsa with Wonton Chips: Crunchy, spicy, and easy to make! There is a lot to love about this easy snack made with fresh corn and black beans.
- Fruit Salsa with Tortilla Chips: Dice a mix of fresh fruits like mango, pineapple, and strawberries, then toss them with lime juice and a touch of honey. Serve with tortilla chips for a sweet and tangy appetizer.
- Stuffed Peppers: Fill sweet peppers with a cheese filling, such as feta cheese or cream cheese mixed with herbs. These bite-sized snacks add a delightful zing that compliments the iced tea.
