If you can’t decide between a margarita and a beer, problem solved, pal! The amazing combination of beer and margaritas makes for the perfect cocktail, and if you’re looking for an easy party drink, look no further. This simple cocktail recipe comes together in a snap and is exactly what you need on a sweltering summer day.

What is a Beergarita?

Sometimes called a “beerita,” this summer cocktail is exactly what it sounds like: a margarita made with lager instead of just tequila. The beer hops compliment the citrusy lime flavors, and when it’s all chilled together you’ve got yourself a super refreshing summer drink.

What You’ll Need

Here’s a list of all the ingredients you will need to make a strawberry beer margarita. Be sure to scroll down to the recipe card for specific amounts.

  • Fresh Strawberries: Washed, hulled, and halved.
  • Tequila: Adds the classic margarita kick.
  • Lemon Lime Soda (like Sprite): Adds a fizzy, sweet citrus flavor. Use any lemon-lime soda or club soda for a less sweet option.
  • Beer: You’ll need one bottle to add a slight bitterness.
  • Frozen Limeade Concentrate: Provides a tangy, concentrated lime flavor. Substitute: Fresh lime juice mixed with sugar to taste.
  • Salt (for rimming the glasses): Substitute with sugar for a sweeter rim.
  • Lime Slices (for garnish): You could also use lemon slices or fresh strawberries.

How to Make Strawberry Beer Margaritas

This recipe is so easy it only takes a couple of simple steps to whip up these delicious Margaritas!

    1. Prepare the Strawberries: Place the strawberries inside the blender.
    2. Add Tequila: Pour the tequila over the strawberries. At this point, you can refrigerate the strawberry mixture for 1 hour to enhance the flavor or proceed directly to the next step.
    3. Blend: Blend the strawberries and tequila until pureed.
    4. Combine Ingredients: Stir in the lemon-lime soda, beer, limeade concentrate, and ice. Pulse in the blender until thoroughly combined.
    5. Transfer and Serve: Transfer the mixture to a large pitcher.
    6. Rim and Garnish: Rim margarita glasses with salt, pour in the drink, and garnish with lime slices if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Beer Margaritas are one of my husband’s specialties and are the ultimate in summer refreshment. They take very little time to make, and are finger lickin’ good. If strawberries aren’t your thing, or they just aren’t available, you can use any other fruit that you have on hand.

I’ve made lots of pitcher drink recipes over the years, including this Mimosa Pitcher Cocktail, but one of the simplest has to be this one.

Don’t forget the Homemade Restaurant Style Salsa, Basil Guacamole, and the Chili Lime Baked Potato Chips. Mix it all up for one heck of a party!

    ENJOY!

I was planning on making strawberry margaritas this week too … no beer though cause I’d have to hit the LCBO or The Beer Store first. (Corona is good but Tecate is still my fave.)
