Peppermint Oreo truffles are simple, festive, and delicious cookie balls made with Oreo cookies, cream cheese, raspberry chocolate, and peppermint.

It’s that time of year when pretty food takes over my kitchen, and for me that always means chocolate + cookies. These peppermint Oreo truffles have been a favorite in my house since Ana could say the word “Oreo”. We’ve made them a million different ways over the years, including these Oreo cheesecake pops, but this peppermint-raspberry version? Dangerously good. And yes, I still eat way too many before they ever hit the chocolate.
Why You’ll Love These Peppermint Oreo Truffles
- No-bake, no stress, and totally kid-friendly!
- You need just 5 simple ingredients.
- Festive, cute, and perfect for parties or gifting.
- A classic Oreo-and-cream-cheese combo that never fails.
- Easily customizable with different chocolates or toppings.
What You’ll Need
- Oreo cookies – Classic works great, but holiday or flavored Oreos can be fun too. Generic sandwich cookies are a great alternative.
- Cream cheese – Make sure it’s softened so it blends easily.
- Melting chocolate – I used raspberry chocolate, but any color or flavor works, including white chocolate, dark chocolate, or candy melts.
- Peppermints or candy canes – For sprinkling on top. Swap the peppermint topping for sprinkles, crushed cookies, or mini chocolate chips.
How to Make Peppermint Oreo Truffles
- Prep your trays. Line cookie sheets with parchment or wax paper.
- Mix. Combine the crushed Oreo cookies, peppermint, and softened cream cheese until thoroughly blended.
- Roll and chill. Shape the mixture into small, 1-inch balls. Freeze them briefly until firm enough to dip.
- Dip. Coat each ball in melted chocolate. Immediately sprinkle with crushed peppermint.
- Set. Refrigerate until the chocolate hardens, about 1 hour.
Recipe Tips
- For the smoothest coating, dip the truffles with two forks, letting the excess chocolate drip off before transferring them to the tray.
- Freeze the undipped balls just long enough to firm up. If you freeze them for too long, the chocolate may crack.
- If your chocolate starts to thicken, warm it slightly to keep the coating nice and smooth.
- Want a stronger mint flavor? Add a tiny drop of peppermint extract to the melted chocolate.

How To Store
- Refrigerator: Keep them covered and chilled for up to 1 week.
- Freezer: Freeze in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge before serving.

Peppermint Oreo Truffles
Ingredients
- 3 candy canes, chopped
- 8 ounces cream cheese block, softened
- 36 Oreo cookies, finely crushed into cookie crumbs
- ¾ teaspoon peppermint extract
- 2 packages (10-ounces each) chocolate melting wafers, melted
Instructions
- Prep. Line two cookie sheets with wax paper and set aside.
- Combine. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cookie crumbs, and peppermint extract; mix with a spoon until well blended. Taste and add more peppermint if you like.
- Shape and freeze. Shape the cookie-dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the lined cookie sheets. Freeze for 10 to 15 minutes, or until firm.
- Add the chocolate and set. Dip the cookie balls in the melted chocolate. Then, place each cookie ball in a single layer on the cookie sheets. Sprinkle with crushed candy. Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until firm, before serving. Keep refrigerated.
Notes
- To easily coat the truffles with the melted chocolate, add the cookie balls in batches to the bowl of melted chocolate. Use 2 forks to roll the Oreo balls in chocolate until evenly coated. Remove them with forks, letting excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Place the truffles in the prepared pan; let stand until the chocolate coating is firm.

Cake pops are my worst enemy. I can’t quit once I start and these would certainly be all gone.
Cake pops are too much work for me but these Oreo truffles look delicious and so pretty with the candy cane decorations. And of course, I love raspberries so the chocolate coating must taste wonderful.
I think raspberry and chocolate are a perfect combination together! Add oreos and you have brilliance! 🙂
Love these!! 🙂 Did you do these for Yummly? 🙂 I did one for them for oreo cookie balls too. 🙂
These sound dangerously good, Kate! Beautiful too!
You really did put an awesome spin on these. I love the addition of raspberry and haven’t seen anything like that anywhere before. They look glorious.
