Nutella Panini Recipe
Several years ago, or maybe like 15 years ago, I was stuck at home with my parents for 4 days; no electricity, no phones, no water, and no way out of our house. We were snowed in. The entire town was under a mountain of snow. The temperature was below 30, and those that know this part of the country – Chicago area and Northwest Indiana – will understand that it is almost impossible to live without heat for well over a week. I layered on as many sweaters and sweatpants as I could; It was unbearable. Some people, mostly older people, didn’t make it alive. Absolutely the worst weather disaster I have ever had to go through. On top of all that, I was a teenager stuck at home with my parents, making sandwiches and playing card games, instead of going out and doing some stupid teenagerish things.
With that said, I think that I, and many others, can somewhat relate to what our East Coast friends are going through these days, and I am so sorry that you are faced with this challenge. My heart goes out to all of you. I pray day and night for you, and you are continuously in my thoughts. Stay strong, stand together, and you will pull through this.
In search of finding something to do for the victims, or to help the victims of Sandy, few of my blogging friends and I thought that the best thing we could do is make others aware of how they can also help.
The American Red Cross has always been at the forefront of disaster relief, and they once again have proven to be the best at what they do. However, they can’t do it without our help. According to their website, financial donations make an instant impact and that is what they mostly need. Just a few of our dollars can mean food for one family, shelter for another… You can donate just $1 dollar! It will make a difference!
To make it a bit easier for you, all you have to do is click on this badge and you will be directed to their website where you can donate any amount that you want. You can also grab the code for the Red Cross Badge that is in my sidebar to the right, post it on your blog, if you have one, and encourage your readers to do the same. Together we will make a difference.
As a side note, I would like to mention that if I was anywhere near the victims, I would be outside with my panini maker putting together Nutella Paninis for everyone.

What a wonderful idea you all came up with to help support those in need following the hurricane. I was only out of power for 8 days and I know there are so many that still have no power and have lost their homes – it really puts things in a whole new light and makes me appreciate all the luxuries we have with power.
This is one of our favorite! What a wonderful way to support. I do believe little things help especially if everyone contributes. Great post, Kate!
Great choice of comfort food for #wecare! I think this is getting lots of support. Love your panini!
What a wonderful thing you all did raising awareness this way.

A nutella panini sounds fantastic! But more importantly, thanks for sharing how to help out those affected by the hurricane. I hope we all can do our part to make a difference to those who need it most right now.
