Make your own mocha at home, and never have to stop at Starbucks again!

Don’t wanna be the one to break this to you, (your computer probably beat me to it) but today is October 1.

That means that we are officially done with Summer. At least that’s how I feel. September is still a big part of Summer for me. But, October is definitely Fall. Yesterday I decorated my home to fit the Fall/Harvest theme. My house is all brown and orange… my husband kinda rolled his eyes when he saw… whatevs! I also put a couple of scarecrows in the front yard – they are so cute!

Do you decorate according to the seasons? I find that it helps me enjoy the time that much more. Is it just me?!

Another question; have you ever made something food-related and didn’t know what the heck to call it?! That was me and this extremely magnificent, stunning little hotness of a drink! Spicy Hot Chocolate Mocha seems fitting, but it took me a good 20 minutes to decide on it.

I often go to my kitchen counter, bring out the guns, a.k.a. brown sugar, sugar, coffee, chocolate chips, butter, etc… – and get to work. Recipe development is my FAVE! I enjoy watching ingredients come together, making something as wonderful as a cookie, a cake, or even a drink.

Hot Chocolate Mocha

There are many ways to make a mocha, but this will teach you how to make a delicious winter coffee drink.

While I was in the middle of producing this concoction, I realized that my love for coffee is SO BIG that I could not go on with making this spicy hot chocolate without throwing a tablespoon of cawfee in there. I, just, could.not.do.it.

Obsessed!? You think?!? Naaaaaah! I just need to be awake!

If you are still trying to get over this whole Summer-thing being ova, try embracing Fall with a cup of this deliciousness. For reals. It will blow you away!

Okay, so it might not literally blow you away, but I think you will love it! If you don’t love it enough, then just throw a shot of bourbon in it… you will start loving everything around you, not just the drink… 🙂 While you’re at it, you can also try my other Hot Chocolate drink – Spiked Pumpkin Pie White Hot Chocolate – that one is BEYOND!

ENJOY!

Katerina, I am sooooo glad I joined your band of followers a short while ago! Delicious recipes, funny writing and the most gorgeous photography! Today I sent eldest daughter your above recipe – like you (and I) she is in “constant need of coffee”. But for me, as a German I got all nostalgic reading about your Autumn! (Fall) decorations. Living now in South India I miss the change of Seasons, the cold and snow (and so does my Indian husband!!!!!). How I wish you had included some photographs of your lovely decorations. Ciao Carina

Hi Carina!! Thanks soooo much for the kind words!!
Though I hate winter, I do like the changing seasons, too. Besides, I need a season that makes way for hot chocolate and pumpkin! hehe 😀
I hope your daughter will enjoy the drink!
      Have a great weekend!!

I felt a little deceived when I read “Spicy”. Thought you’d have some cayenne in there. Which is wonderful in chocolate! Looks and sounds great but I recommend changing it to “Spiced”

    1. Chastity says:

It does have cayenne in it.
