ABOUT

HI & POZDRAV!

My name is Katerina, and I am addicted to baking and cooking. I am also a mom to a gorgeous little girl, Ana, and a wife to a wonderful man named Goce (Go-tse).

About Diethood. First and foremost, this is not a Diet-Food Food Blog. But, I do feel like I’m always on a diet. Every weekend I tell myself that I will start to diet on Monday. Monday comes and goes, and I’m still not on a diet. :)

For me eating is not about just sitting down to eat; it’s an enjoyment, it’s a passion, it’s something that satisfies not just a craving, but also that curiosity about the food’s smell, texture, and taste.

My skills for cooking wholesome, healthy, delicious, good-for-you food, as well as authentic Macedonian dishes, have earned me a recurring role in this household’s kitchen…

Who am I kidding – We would starve if I didn’t cook! ;-)  In all honesty, I just took over the kitchen because I love to spend my time in it.

And because of that love, I started this blog.

My professional experience in the field of Marketing, Management and Consulting, paired with my natural ability to write and cook, enabled me to launch Diethood.com in October of 2010. Armed with a passion for cooking, baking, food photography, entertaining, and all food-related subjects, I decided it was time to hang up my professional suit, put the apron on, and join the food blogging community.

I hope you enjoy your stay here at Diethood.com!

Na Zdravje! (Pronounced, “Nice Driveway”, and that’s Macedonian for, “To Your Health!”)

Please feel free to use or share my recipes, I just ask that you link back to me so that credit is given where credit is due. Besides, that’s the right thing to do!

Also, all of the photography on Diethood.com is shot by yours truly. I am not a professional by any means, but I do what I can. If you would like to share/use any of my photos, please contact me first.

Thank You!

I was just wondering, are you from Macedonia or some other part of that region? My husband is from Serbia and I fell in love with Nutella! I think it can be spread on just about anything!!!!! I especially love that our local Wal-Mart now carries the larger sized jar of Nutella so I don’t have to buy so many little ones! Love the recipes – thanks for sharing!

    • Hi Kelli!
Yes, I’m Macedonian :) . I was born there, but have lived in the States since the age of 11. If you’re from that region, chances are that you grew up on Nutella or Eurokrem, like your husband and I did. :)

      Thank you for visiting, Kelli!

  14. Cool blog! I do the same thing, “Ok, I’m going to start on a diet tomorrow.” But, don’t get me wrong, I’m not overweight, I just want to be thinner.

I just found your blog while doing a search for Macedonian recipes.
I’m hosting a going away party for daugher’s best friend who is going into the Peace Corps and will be placed in Macedonia. So, my search was an attempt to come up with a menu to include some ethnic dishes. Your site is wonderful and helped so much!! I’ve bookmarked it, and not just for the Macedonian recipes.
