Delicious pan-fried Oyster Mushrooms are garlicky, buttery, and delicate. Prepared with only four ingredients and a few minutes, and you’ve got a tasty side dish ready to go!
Melt the butter. Place the butter and olive oil in a heavy skillet set over medium-high heat.
Cook the mushrooms. When the butter is melted, add the mushrooms to the skillet in one layer. Cook the mushrooms for 2 minutes or until golden.
Add the remaining ingredients. Flip over the mushrooms and add the smashed garlic to the skillet. Reduce the heat to medium-low; season with salt and pepper. Continue to cook the mushrooms until they start to brown, continuously spooning the butter over them as they cook.
Serve. Remove the oyster mushrooms from the heat, taste for salt and pepper, and adjust accordingly before serving.
Notes
Gentle Cleaning: Wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth or a soft brush to remove any dirt. Avoid washing them, as they can soak up water and become slimy.
Trim the Ends: Cut off the tough, woody base of the mushrooms.
Tear Into Strips: Oyster mushrooms can be torn into desired size strips to ensure they cook evenly.
Avoid Crowding: Don’t overcrowd the pan; give the mushrooms space to cook evenly and get crispy edges.
Seasoning: Oyster mushrooms are delicate and absorb flavors well, so you can experiment with various seasonings to match your meal.
Versatile Pairing: They are great with pasta, in stir-fries, or simply as a side dish to steak, chicken, or fish.
