Fruit kabobs are made with juicy strawberries, sweet blueberries, and cubes of pound cake, all threaded onto skewers and served with a chocolate dipping sauce.
Prep. Prepare your fruit by washing and drying the berries. Then cut up the pound cake into cubes.
Make the kabobs. Thread the fruit and pound cake onto skewers, alternating colors for that festive look. Set aside.
Make the chocolate sauce. Put the cream in a small saucepan and cook over low heat. When the cream begins to form bubbles around the edges, remove from the heat and whisk in the chopped chocolate. Continue whisking until the mixture is melted and smooth. Whisk in vanilla and rum; remove from the heat and set aside. Sauce will thicken as it stands.
Serve. Arrange the fruit skewers on a platter and serve the chocolate sauce in a bowl.
Notes
How much fruit and cake you will need depends on how many skewers you want to make. Keep in mind, the dipping sauce will serve about 8 people.
