Instructions
Shake the margaritas. Add the blackberries and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Muddle the blackberries with a cocktail muddler until they release their juices. Add tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Add a handful of ice, close the shaker, and shake vigorously for 20–30 seconds.
Prepare the glasses. Run a lime slice around the rim of each glass. Add salt to a shallow plate and coat the rims of the glasses with salt.
Strain and serve. Strain the margarita into ice-filled margarita glasses using a cocktail strainer. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use fresh or thawed blackberries.
You can use any of the recommended syrups. The blackberry syrup will give an intense blackberry flavor. You could also make homemade simple syrup by simmering equal parts water and sugar (ex: 1 cup water + 1 cup granulated sugar) until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let it cool.
If you do not have a muddler or shaker, just add all into a food blender, along with ice. Blend until the ice is crushed and then strain. Do not blend like you would blend a smoothie. For straining, you can use a small sieve.
