Pat the beef dry with a paper towel, then whisk the seasoning ingredients together in a small bowl.
Rub the seasoning all over the meat. Let it rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or for up to 1 day in the fridge.
Heat oil in an oven-safe skillet, and sear the tri tip for about 3 minutes per side, until browned.
Transfer the skillet to the oven, and roast for 25-35 minutes at 400 degrees.
Let the Tri Tip rest for 10-15 minutes after cooking. Slice it thin, garnish, and serve!
