Apple Crumble Recipe

This easy Apple Crumble recipe is awesomely delicious! Bursting with warm cinnamon apples, plus a sprinkle of sweet and crunchy topping, it's simply the best apple crumble recipe. Serve it with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and dig in!

  • 1 pound Granny Smith Apples peeled and diced
  • 1 pound Honeycrisp Apples peeled and diced
  • half lemon, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon


  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg, you can add more if you like
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup or 8 tablespoons) butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Vanilla Ice Cream, for serving


  1. Preheat oven to 350˚F.
  2. Lightly butter a 9x13 baking dish.
  3. Spread out the diced apples in the baking dish and squeeze lemon juice over the apples; toss to combine.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the apples, as well as the sugar and cinnamon; mix until combined. Set aside.
  5. In a mixing bowl combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt; mix until thoroughly incorporated.
  6. Melt the butter and whisk the vanilla into the melted butter.
  7. Pour melted butter over oat mixture and mix well until crumbly, using your fingers or a spoon.
  8. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apple filling.
  9. Lightly spray the topping with cooking spray.
  10. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until apples are bubbly and topping is a golden brown. If the top starts to brown sooner than the apples are done cooking, tent a sheet of aluminum foil over the crumble and continue to bake until done.
  11. Remove from oven and let stand 15 to 20 minutes.
  12. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
