These Green Beans and Tomatoes are slow cooked with onions and garlic for an easy, yet incredibly flavorful vegetable side dish. These green beans are a perfect side to any main course!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large yellow onion , sliced
  • 6 garlic cloves , minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika , or to taste
  • 1 pound fresh green beans , trimmed
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) Hunt’s® Diced Tomatoes
  • salt and fresh ground pepper , to taste
  • 1/4 cup low sodium vegetable broth

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in a dutch oven, or a large saucepan with a lid.
  • Add onions and cook over medium heat for about 3 minutes, or until soft.
  • Add garlic and continue to cook until fragrant; about 30 seconds.
  • Stir in the smoked paprika.
  • Stir in green beans, tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add vegetable broth, give it a good stir and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to LOW and cover with a lid; continue to cook for 1 hour, or until green beans are very tender.
  • Taste for seasonings and adjust accordingly.
  • Serve immediately.
