Did you know that today you are supposed to celebrate Nutella? Yep! It’s the 5th annual World Nutella Day! And you should dig in with your spoons without any thought or guilt. Better yet, you should go into that kitchen and make these Mini Nutella Cheesecakes.
My sister and I grew up on hazelnut spread, or Eurokrem (hazelnut spread made in Macedonia), or Nutella. At least once a day we would be treated to a slice of bread with Nutella spread all over it. But, when we came to the States in 1989 my mom and dad could not find it in any of the surrounding grocery stores. As you can imagine, we were all really disappointed. Nutella on a piece of bread for us was like a PB and Jelly sandwich for the others. But PB and jelly didn’t measure up back then; our taste buds were not used to it. In all honesty, we were turned off by the thought of peanuts made into butter. (Don’t worry, not anymore…I love that stuff!)
The great news is that now I can go to my local grocer and get my jar of Nutella – thank goodness – and I can do a lot more than just spreading it on a slice of bread!
As often as I possibly can, I make cheesecakes. I love cheesecakes. This cheesecake was inspired by my love for Nutella, cheesecakes, and Valentine’s Day. But the mini version of it was inspired by Laurie, author of Food is Love. As I was going through all the food blogs last week, I came across her post about making delicious desserts fast. She had some great options and I especially liked the idea for the cheesecakes because one, as I stated, I love cheesecakes, two, mini versions of anything are always cuter, and three, I had already planned to make this Nutella cheesecake so to celebrate its Day with the rest of the world; Ms Adventures in Italy, Bleeding Espresso, and World Nutella Day! Check them out as they all have incredible recipes made with Nutella!

Congrats on the Top 9 today! Your little cheesecakes look so good and perfect for Valentine’ss Day. I just bought my first jar of Nutella on Nat’l Nutells Day, and made Kim’s Liv Life. Nutells fudge brownies for my Super bowl party.
Yeah, I discovered Nutella on a trip to Oktoberfest a few years back and while it took a backseat to all the wonderful beer, it ended up still being one of my favorite things about the trip – I love the stuff, and those mini cheesecakes look delicious!
Congrats on well deserved top 9 Kate!
These are great. Now I really regret not buying Nutella when I shopped the other day. Good thing there’s lots more on the shelves!
I missed the day (again) but I am glad I didn’t miss these sweet delectables. Making note of this right now – little tastes of heaven.
Happy World Nutella Day!
Yum! And I love that they’re red!!! 😀
Yum. I adore cheesecake. And, even though I don’t like chocolate, Nutella does appeal to me because I love hazelnuts. I might just have to celebrate Nutella Day a few days late!
Yum! I made similar cheesecakes using Nilla wafers, but didn’t make them red velvet or Nutella! Love.
Yes please! A perfect treat for Nutella Day!

I’m waiting to see if I’m going to get Nutella overload in the midst of the World Nutella Day celebrations, but it hasn’t happened yet. Red is definitely the color of love and chocolate is the flavor of romance, so I can’t wait to make these amore cheesecakes for Valentine’s!
Adorable! Thanks so much for participating; I hope you had a wonderful World Nutella Day 🙂
I had a great time – thanks for allowing us to showcase our Nutella creations!
At 10:30 last night I went to the store to buy a jar because my hubby and I celebrated all day with these minis and a heaping spoon of Nutella on the side. 🙂

These sound amazing! I love that they’re red too, super cute!! I wasn’t introduced to Nutella until I was in my older teens…thanks to the Food Network and Giada LOL
I love nutella too and agree that mini-foods are so much cuter. Looks great!
I have to admit that I don’t get enough Nutella, but with these cute little cheesecakes, I’m going to have to pick up a jar this weekend!
Being from former YUG (Slovenia), I too had the privilege to enjoy Eurokrem, the staple of our youth! But living close to Italy, I had the privilege to enjoy Nutella at least four times a year. Well, that was a real treat!!!!!!!!! Happy Nutella day Kate and wonderful cupcakes! And adding the red rose just pushed the deliciousness up a notch! Thank you for sharing 🙂
mini nutella cheesecakes sound delicious! I can just imagine how the nutella builds in the creaminess of the cheesecake. I had no idea it was nutella day….sigh….I am so out of the loop!
thanks for a wonderful post and a tasty cheesecake….love the colour too!
Cheers
Dennis

I am a sucker for cheesecakes! Those mini ones look so cute and make portion-control so much easier.
Hey Kate!!
Great addition! I hate baking and this posting gives me motivation to make this! Thanks for the idea!!!

Every day is World Nutella Day as far as my husband is concerned. He became addicted to it when he lived in Italy, and I will never forget the day he discovered it at our local market. I though he was having some kind of attack. He was speechless with awe and gratitude! Since then I have become a huge fan, too. I love the recipe, great post!
I love how simple this dessert is to make, but big flavor with the Nutella. I’ve seen it at the stores often, but I’ve never tried it. I think I’ll make these for Super Bowl tomorrow for dessert. Thanks for the recipe!
Kristi
OMG- This is stunning, love love nutella, and you did outstanding job on these!!!
I can’t believe i’ve never had nutella-I need to jump on this bandwagon!
