Creamsicle White Chocolate Chip Cookies

white chocolate chip cookies

Each and every time I make chocolate chip cookies I think of Phoebe on “Friends”.

Remember the episode where she talks about her French Grandmother and her Chocolate Chip Cookies?

Phoebe: “Neslay Toollouse”

Monica: “Nestle Toll House?!?”

Phoebe: “You Americans always butcher the French language”.

LOL! GO HERE if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

Ok. This post is not about Phoebe. Sorry. But it is about someone very special!

You see, today is a great day! Today I get to see my Mommy!

I sound like I’m 10 again, but it’s MOM…it’s okay to be 10, again, around Mom.

It’s been two months since my Mom went to visit my sister in Macedonia, and we have missed her a lot. Especially my daughter – she LOVES her Baba!

SO to celebrate her return I made her some treats that contain two of her favorite ingredients; white chocolate and oranges.

I argue with her that white chocolate is not chocolate, but she doesn’t agree. And, if it’s not white chocolate, then I better serve her something with Toblerone. Not bad choices.

In as far as the recipe for these cookies… well… no secrets here. I just turn to the back of the Nestle Tollhouse bag, and only tweak a couple of things.

Just put in sandwich bags then 2 freezer bags so no tastes are picked up from the freezer. They will be just fine for freezing then.

Soooooo how do you think macadamia nuts would work. Will it ruin the recipe? I bought a lot of nuts to make cookies. Came across this one. Help.

  3. Every time you speak about meeting your mother from Macedonia – it makes your family sound so eloquent. I love it! 🙂 On another note, these cookies sound amazing. White chocolate chips and oranges would be perfect together. It sounds like sorbet.
    Loved the Phoebe reference!

  4. These are absolutely fab, Kate! Would you believe it–I’ve never had Toblerone before 🙁 Where do you get them? For some reason, I vaguely remember a Friends episode where Joey is obsessed with them? Hmm, not quite sure. I hope your mom enjoyed these spectacular cookies!

  5. Congratulations Kate on these yummy cookies being in the Top 9! I am looking forward to trying them. I’m sure your Mom loved them and have fun catching up.

  6. I have to try these cookies!! They seem really great!! And the mug (is that the right word??) is simply perfect!! They can’t be more beautiful.
The problem is that I have to try also your honey and ginger cookies, so if I stay at this blog one more minute, I will have a problem!!
    Love your blog!!

  7. Kate-I am not surprised how you make it on the top 9 so often. You have such beautiful dessets and dishes, and meticulous, gorgeous photos to accompany them!

  10. Oh! I have a bag of white chocolate chips but did not pay attention on the recipe on the bag…never mind…you already convince me to make these cookies. They look awesome with a hint of orange.
Hope you are having a fantastic week Kate 🙂

  11. Okay, before we talk about this phenom recipe I just want to say I made those oreo cheescake pops…OHMIGOD. They might be the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Well frapping done!

Anyway, I’ll be bookmarking these bad boys as well but I’m gonna give myself a few weeks before i make it because I need to recover from the diabetic coma I slipped into last night after eating 5 cheesecake pops…

  12. Love visiting mommy days! That is seriously the only time we can really be little kids again!! I’ve never added zest to anything in my recipes, but I may need to change that. I love your new header with your new pics of your dishes!! =]

  13. What a beautiful treat for your Mom! I really like the idea of adding orange zest to the Toll House recipe. It must give the cookies such a great burst of orange flavor!

  14. This is THE cookies for me. I am not a great fan of chocolate cookie but this white chocolate with orange twist is love.. and white chocolate is my husband’s fav 🙂

  15. Always ok to get excited for a visit with mom! I can’t imagine not seeing mine for 2 months. 🙂 I’m not a big fan of chocolate as you know, but these cookies are just so darn cute!

  16. Kate!!! First of all, white chocolate is TOTALLY chocolate 😀 LOL. And chocolate and orange is my FAVORITE chocolate fruit combo! LOVE this cookie! And LOVE the picture of the creamed butter and sugar before the egg is fully incorporated. Ok… longest comment ever. LOL.

  17. What a nice treat for your mom! I love orange baked goods – I’d definitely have to change up the chips to semisweet or dark though as I’m not a fan of white chocolate. That’s the beauty of cookies though – so easy to change up to your liking 🙂

  18. I completely remember that Friends episode. I quote it to people, too, and they look at me like I’m crazy. So happy your mom is coming back. If you told me you were making these cookies, I think I’d come over, too. 🙂 They looks delicious.
