Werther’s Original Sugar Free Candy

Werther's Original Sugar Free Candy in a glass candy dish

I have a sweet tooth. No denying that. This blog proves it. From brownies to cookies and cakes… I love ’em all! Very, very much…

BUT. I am really good when it comes to portion control. Honestly, I can’t believe I even have that in me, but I do, and I thank myself every day.

As I have mentioned before on this blog, diabetes runs in the family. My dad was only 35 years old when he was diagnosed with borderline diabetes. 35! That’s so young. That’s as young as I am right now!

I will never forget the day that he received the news. He was stunned, devastated, lost… His entire life changed that very moment, as well as his diet, of course. My dad’s sweet tooth is as big as mine, if not better.

The news also changed our lives. Cakes, cookies, pies, and all those goodies that Mom used to make kind of disappeared from our kitchen. Devastating, indeed.

However, it really wasn’t too long before my dad discovered all the sugar-free goodness that was out there, including Werther’s Original Sugar Free Candy. To this day, it is his favorite way to quickly satisfy that sweet tooth.

And mine!

I keep a bag of these delicious caramel candies in my car at all times. My favorite is their Caramel Apple! SO good! It’s like a caramel apple without all the extra carbs. There’s also the Classic Caramel, Caramel Coffee, Caramel Cinnamon… it’s caramel heaven, I tell ya. Made with real butter and fresh cream, each candy is only 8 calories!

  1. They are labeled sugar free, but my feet go numb everytime I eat them :(.

I am very much into Werther’s Sugar free candies. I am diabetic and I have a jar of different types of sugar free candies for those “SWEET TOOTH” moments. My jar is over 3/4 full of Werther’s. What could be better when the sugar bug bites? 🙂

I like their caramel candy. Being sugar-free is a real plus so I can eat more than one.

  4. For a minute I thought you were posting a copycat recipe for home made Werther’s … glad you didn’t cause I’d be really curious to give it a try. Or maybe not. 🙂

They’re a great hard candy treat.
