I can’t quite remember my TV-life before Dora and Bubble Guppies, but I’m certain it didn’t involve those cuties. Don’t get me wrong, those shows are preeeettaaaaay awesome and I am SO! happy they are there. Truly. How else would a stay-at-home-working-mom work? Nickelodeon is a lifesaver. Besides, my kids are also learning Spanish – their third language! They are practically GENIUSES! (insert sarcasm somewhere around here…)
I recently made a deal with them. Our deal involved Chocolate “Christmas Trees” (yes, I am baking for the Holidays – I am getting recipes ready for the blog), Monster Cupcakes and a night spent on my bed. In return I was going to get a Girl’s Night In with my friends to watch our new mommy-show Instant Mom. Sounds like a great deal, right?
Have you seen the show?! It’s hilarious!
Tia Mowry-Hardrict, who plays Stephanie, the Instant Mom, was a party girl before marrying an older man with 3 kids. Suddenly, she’s a Mom of three, expected to be a responsible parent and a true confidante to her new step kids. It’s fun watching her find out what being a mom is all about. I kinda find myself in her. I am a mom of 2, but still not sure that I have this mom-thing down. Most likely I don’t, but I’ll fake it until I make it. 😉
For this particular night, I had invited a couple of my friends and my Mom to join me for a night of wine, chocolate cookies, cheetos and NickMom! Believe me, those 4 things go together like bread and buttah! We had a blast!! But, there was one little hiccup. Just as soon as my girl, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, popped on the screen in her new show Instant Mom, my little one woke up! Argh! Not fair!! I love Tia! I used to watch her on Sister Sister all the time!
I ended up watching her new show with baby in one hand and remote control in the other. There I am, in the dark.
That’s the last time I make a deal with a 16-month old.
The rest of my party people got to enjoy a tray of desserts, snacks and a bottle of wine…
Guess what I did after they left? I poured myself a glass of wine and polished off the leftovers. Ha!
Since discovering all the #MotherFunny happenings on Nick Jr., and that after 10:00 pm (EST) Nick Jr. turns into NickMom, this Mom gets to tune in and enjoy all the “after hours” shows, sans kids, and a glass of wine. Or two. Oh, who’s counting!
If you are looking for a new program to enjoy, tune into NickMom after 10:00 (EST) each night on Nick Jr. to get your #MotherFunny on! Also, NickMom airs new episodes of Instant Mom every Sunday on Nick Jr. at 10:00 pm EST. and reruns can be viewed every night. Please check your local listing or this link to confirm the time in your specific time zone: http://www.nickmom.com/tv-schedule/.
Those treats look absolutely DELICIOUS! Isn’t it crazy how sometimes our kids have different plans than us, and try as we might, we cannot negotiate with terrorists? And holy crap – Boozy Mascarpone filling? Send some my way! NOM NOM NOM

Wow you have beautiful daughters, but so different:)
Yes, they are very different! 🙂 That little blondie looks like my husband’s grandmother. Everyone asks me if she really is ours… 🙂
Love Instant Mom, my granddaughter asked me to watch it with her. I’ll have to add the wine next time.
I saw you getting ready for this party on instagram and have already commented but must comment on your pictures of your daughters-SO CUTE and they have really grown!
