…First and foremost I want to tell you all that I truly appreciate your wonderful, kind, and caring words; yesterday’s post was very hard to write, but I had to do it for my Baba.

Sometimes all we need is for someone to tell us that everything is going to be okay, and I thank you all for that.

I went to the pool last weekend with my husband and my daughter. Had a great time watching the little one enjoy herself while swimming around with daddy…it was very sweet.

But I could not help noticing one other thing – MILFs were everywhere!! Did people start working out before June?!?

THANK goodness I “forgot” my bathing suit at home.

So last week while everyone was gobbling up ice cream and frozen cheesecakes, (it was near 100 degrees for 3 days), I was hanging out with granola, fruit, and cold yogurt parfaits.

  6. Assemble the parfaits by pouring a 1/2 cup of yogurt in each glass.
  7. Spoon over some of the oats, top with half of the cherries, then pour the rest of the yogurt on top, and finish off with more oats and cherries.
  8. Put the parfaits in the fridge for a couple of hours before serving.
Recipe Notes
  • I partially froze mine and pretended that I was eating ice cream with the rest. In fact, I urge you to freeze it because it is that much better when frozen. Trust me – I’ve had 4 of these in a week.

  1. You make yogurt parfait look exciting and delicious 🙂 that’s pretty impressive considering what a “common” food this is. Now I want one for my snack today 🙂

  2. I missed your post yesterday, but just read it. A wonderful tribute to your Grandmother… We are dealing with my husband’s mother in the last few weeks and I think we are realizing that mortality is staring us in the face. It’s a touch bit to swallow. Our thoughts are with you, Kate.
As for the parfait! Love it! We are headed on a beach vacation in about 8 weeks and i”m NO where near ready. Vegas in is 3 weeks and I’m just not going to worry about it. Well.. I will worry about it, but probably nothing will happen! I had a similar breakfast and actually, it’s one of my favorites. Congrats on the Top 9!!

  3. Lol, who says you’re not one of those MILFs! 🙂 Parfaits are totally sexier than wiry worked-out arms…especially when served in adorable Mason jars…

  4. I seriously doubt you need to be worried about bikini season 🙂 And wow, nearing 100 degrees…it has not been to bad here, and down by the beach where I am it has been on the chilly side even, but I would have this delight anytime. And love, love that you toasted the oats 🙂
Hope you are having a great week

  5. Oh Kate, I am so sorry I missed your post about your Baba’s passing. Many hugs. And I am sure if you had not “forgotten” your bathing suit, you would have looked lovely! Yummy parfait!

  6. You have the most delicious way with granola! I could totally eat 4 of these parfaits (I think they’d be awesome for breakfast) and with no guilt 🙂 So sorry to hear about your grandmother – your post tugged at my heart, love that the cucumber salad was paired with moonshine – and thank you for your thoughtful comment on my blog. *hugs*

  7. I love Sommer’s comments…actually your whole post made me giggle. What a great way to soothe the sweet tooth without blowing the diet…your parfait looks fabulous!

  8. Wonderful recipe, gorgeous pictures and a little princess water-baby as a bonus picture. What a great post. Fabulous as always. : )

PS…. I need a table like the one you take your pictures on … I love it. : )

  9. She’s such a cutie in the pool!

I was just snacking on a strawberry and yogurt parfait the other day – I think I just may have to pick up some cherries to enjoy this version too =)

  10. So sorry to hear about your grandmother. I am so slow getting around to friends’ blogs that I seem to be missing the really important stuff.

I hear you about “forgetting” the bathing suits. My poor little girl wants to go to the pool so badly and mommy just won’t get on a suit until at least 10 pounds are gone. Your parfait will help.

  11. So sorry to read about your grandmom… I send you a big virtual hug! <3

Your little one looks adorable! 🙂 And that parfait looks delicious… if all no-fat food was like that I would constantly want to be on a diet!!!!! 😉

  12. So glad I’m not the only one who didn’t know what a MILF is, lol. Love your parfait, actually I love anything you make, therefore I never have to worry about wearing a bathing suit.

  13. I love yogurt parfaits but never do much more than adding fruit and granola to yogurt! Yours definitely takes more effort than that but it looks so, so good! I might have to take more time making my yogurt parfaits ;).

  14. LOL on milf..I had to google it and I got vision now hahaha
Ohh I don’t think that you have anything to worry about, you look awesome..
I am going to pool where there are mom’s with 3-5 kids, and elderly women:))) so I am good to go!:)))

Your parfait look amazing..what a wonderful flavors and pictures are just stunning..Ana look as always adorable!!!

  15. Is it bad that I have absolutely no idea what a MILF is???

I am sorry about your grandmother, though how wonderful that you had so much time with her and were able to build the memories you will cherish forever.

That parfait is the kind of thing I’d get all over my face trying to lick all the way down to the bottom of the jar. I’d better take mine in a big, wide bowl, ok?

  16. You are too funny my friend! I thought after you said you forgot your suit you were going to tell us you went skinny dipping!!
What a wonderful treat, I do love yogurt parfaits and I am starting to see local cherries what a perfect way to enjoy them!
Hope your week is going well
