Back to School Lunchbox Ideas! Thank you Horizon® Organic for sponsoring this post! All opinions are always 100% my own.
Sometimes, parents write small notes of Love to put in their kids’ lunchboxes…
I stick a Horizon Organic Milk Box in there and let them go. It’s my way of saying, “I’m thinking about you, boo!”
Hi, friends! Happiest of Wednesdays, how the heck are ya?! I’m still holding onto this back-to-school thing. It’s getting to me. I told you the other day that this was our first week back and I’m barely holding it together.
To be 100% honest, my sadness/fear/nervousness lasts only up until I reminisce back to last week and am reminded of the whole, “Mooooom! I’m BORED! MOOOOM! My sister is copying ME! MOM MOM MAAAAHHHHM!” ordeal. At which point I come back to reality, start to smile, and count my quiet-moment blessings.
Going back to school usually means early morning wake-ups, lunchbox preps, juggling everyone’s schedules, while also keeping everyone healthy AND well-fed. Then there’s making time for homework and cheer and soccer and dance! And who can forget that it’s also just as important to have a couple of hours for some play time, family time, down time, and all that jazz. PHEW! There’s so much to do!
With so many things going on in the lives of busy families, I’ve partnered with Horizon Organic to possibly help you with a few quick tips about lunchbox ideas and after school quick meals and snacks. This should help everyone function a little better, and feel their best as our kids head back to their normal routine.
My girls absolutely love love loooove Horizon Organic Milk. It was what I introduced them to when we started on cow’s milk and they won’t change it for the world, as well as expect it in their lunch box, daily, for their breakfast at school. Paired with a whole wheat waffle sandwich, I’m happy to oblige because not only are dairy foods like milk, cheese, and yogurt excellent sources of protein, but they also contain calcium and vitamin D.
If milk is not your child’s cup of tea(?) , I’m sure cheese IS! Who doesn’t love cheese?! Horizon’s Organic Mozzarella Cheese Sticks are great for snacking!
Kids also love snacks that will keep them full throughout the day. My daughter’s lunch isn’t until 12:45 pm. She says that if it wasn’t for the apples, blueberries, and those Horizon Honey Grahams in her lunchbox, she would “absolutely starrrrrve!”.
To change things up, on some days I will include the Horizon Snack Crackers instead of the Honey Grahams , Horizon Yogurt Tuberz in place of the Horizon Fruit Snacks, and Apple Clusters in place of the apples. Believe me when I say, your kids won’t be tempted to trade snacks with their friends when their lunch boxes come packed with goodies as great as these.
Besides, Horizon snack crackers and snack grahams have 8 grams of whole grains per serving, and are all made with recognizable ingredients. Nothing fake, processed, or complicated.
After a long day at school, my daughter Ana comes home hungry for an after-school bowl of mac ‘n cheese. Because she has either, soccer or cheer right after school, a bowl of Horizon’s Organic Cheddar Cheesy Deluxe is just what she needs.
Topped with tomatoes and a sprinkle of cheddar crackers. She is her mother’s daughter…
Sweet or savory, you can make lunch & snack-planning easy with all these organic options that are also delicious and good for you, too.
Curb their hunger with these wholesome ideas and keep their tummies happy throughout the day!
