These Meatballs And Pasta Were So Easy To Make
Line up because I’ve got something special going on in the kitchen today! We’ve got meatballs, we’ve got pasta shells, and we have corn! All of that awesomeness sitting on this beautiful plate, ready to be devoured. Truthfully, it’s times like these that I really, REALLY wish we had taste-o-vision. If I could, I would feed this delicious meal to each and every one of you.
If you’ve been coming around here for some time, you have most likely noticed that I like to prepare this family’s dinner meals with a few shortcuts, if possible. Thus, when Tyson Foods asked me to prepare a meal using their Mix & Match Creations, you can see why I was game-set-go!
My Family Loves Eating All Kinds Of Pasta
Since pasta is a part of our family, last weekend, during our weekly trip to Walmart, I picked up a bag of these Buttered Pasta Shells, which are a part of the Mix & Match series. Also, in search of some meaty protein, we picked up a bag of their flavorful Tyson Homestyle Meatballs. And because you can’t have meatballs without tomato sauce, I also reached for a box of the Tuscan Tomato Sauce.
Judging by our choices, it would appear that we are either Italian, Italian, or Italian. We are not. But we LOVE their food!
Along the way, and while I was in the Mix & Match zone, I also picked up some Asian Style Vegetables and Whole Grain Brown Rice (all part of the Mix & Match Creations) – for those let’s-go-light-on-dinner-so-we-can-have-cake-for-dessert nights.
This Recipe Is The Perfect Cheap And Easy Dinner
Best part of this shopping trip was the receipt – a $10 dollar dinner for 4! I thought that was the icing on the cake until we came home and tasted the meatballs… OhMy! Delish! These meatballs were so, so good! Flavorful and moist, just as they should be. It also helps that they were easy to prepare – oven at 350 for 30 minutes and ding! Din din was ready!
The pasta shells were also very good. I enjoyed the taste of the butter sauce and the added texture of corn and julienned carrots.
Then there was the delicious Tuscan Tomato Sauce that my husband wanted to just spoon into his mouth as if it was soup. Yep. That good. In fact, there are two pouches of frozen sauce in each box, and since I only used one for this particular dinner, the next night my husband used the other pouch to perk up his spaghetti!
How Do You Cook Frozen Tomato Sauce?
Because the sauce was frozen, I thawed it while the meatballs were cooking, and a few minutes before I had to take out the meatballs, I added the sauce to the saucepan to heat it up, about 3 minutes.
In under 1 hour, we had a 3-course meal sitting all pretty, waiting for us to delight in and chow down! And that’s exactly what we did. We enjoyed it down to the last pasta shell and fought for the last meatball. The kids won…

Oh yum, I’d almost forgotten how much I love meatballs! (When will someone invent taste-o-vision?)
Would be a nice idea to show my teen. He could learn a trick or two.
I ve tried this.
Very delicious!
Tyson did pretty good with this edition.
My kids would devour this!!
The dinner sounds very tasty and bonus on the extra sauce for hubby’s spaghetti. 🙂 I’d love to try to replicate it at home with basic ingredients as I don’t like to purchase too many prepared foods.
