Delicious, quick and healthy Pomegranate Yogurt Smoothie made with Pomegranate juice, yogurt, and sweetened with honey.
This is soooo NOT a weekend recipe, but, you know… I’m looking out for ya. Supposedly, it’s day 2 since your New Year’s Resolution Diet started… how goes it?! This Smoothie is part of my effort to help you get ahead. Aaaaand… for the reason that my arms decided to take up on their own zip code, I also jumped on the NY Res Diet with the rest of you.
Day 1 was meh. I started out on the right foot with a tall glass of this beautiful Pomegranate Yogurt Smoothie, but later on that night, I was all over the White Chocolate Brown Sugar-Cinnamon Kettle Corn – that stuff is DA BOMB! It’s even better with a side of chardonnay! Yes, I said chardonnay… I try to keep it classy even when I’m eating popcorn… Psyche! <—– (um…who still says that?!?) 😉
I’m hoping day 2, 3 and 4 will be better. I can’t promise what’s going to happen after that because January 7th is Orthodox Christmas – which means it is my time to celebrate! Those cookies ain’t gonna eat themselves, ya know? Or mom’s damn good food. Can’t wait to dig into whatever she is going to have for us.
For now, I’ll focus on smoothies…
I have developed a relationship of sorts with this particular yogurt smoothie recipe. We meet up a lot. In fact, it was one of the first few recipes I shared on Diethood. Don’t worry about the photos… and please don’t judge. I tell you this with nothing but love and understanding, m’kay? Sphanx.
Obviously, I’ve updated not only the photos, but the recipe as well. I wanted something creamier, and adding banana to the mix was just what this beverage was crying for.
So! If you’re trying to ease into 2014 with a healthier menu, this smoothie is a great start to your day! It’s simplicity and creaminess will surprise you. It will make you love it even more!

- 1 cup crushed ice
- 2 bananas, sliced
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- ½ cup pomegranate juice
- ¼ cup honey
- 3 tablespoons pomegranate seeds for garnish
- Combine ice, banana slices, yogurt, pomegranate juice and honey in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Add more yogurt or juice as necessary, depending on your desired consistency, and adjust sweetener to your taste.
- Pour into two glasses and garnish with pomegranate seeds.
