How do you get a 33 year-old to be just as excited as a 2 year-old?

You keep Nutella in the pantry and pizza dough in the fridge. Try it, it works.

And ice cream. And Oreos. And chocolate.

We eat fruits, too. Lots of ‘em. I promise! And veggies! But we could live without those – we, however, cannot live without the sweeter things in life. That was a confession.

DSC08524 1024x768 Pizza Nutella

Here’s another confession; I am scared of flying. Like terrified. Like butterflies in my stomach and all. And I have to fly from Chicago to Macedonia next week.

That’s like a really long flight. 8 hours to Vienna, Austria, and then another 2 hours to Macedonia. I do this trip every year, but I never get over the fear.

Now it’s your turn to tell me that there’s nothing to be afraid of, and that I have a higher chance in being hit by a lightning (one hit the tree in my front yard two weeks ago), and that some Xanax should help me get through it. icon wink Pizza Nutella

In the meantime, I am going to enjoy my Pizza Nutella. I hope you will, too!

Pizza Nutella

You will need:

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 425.
  • Lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray and set aside.
  • Prepare the dough.
  • Using your hands and fingers flatten the dough onto the bottom of the baking sheet. Get it as thin as possible. DSC08438 thumb Pizza Nutella
  • Bake the dough for 10 minutes.
  • Spread the nutella all over the pizza, then top with chopped hazelnuts and white chocolate chips. If you want melted chocolate, chop the chocolate chips before you sprinkle them over the pizza.
  • Put the pizza back into the oven for another 5 minutes.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before cutting.

This is totally going into my bookmarks!
When I’m afraid of something, one really good technique is visuallization. Instead of thinking of the flight while you are on the flight, concentrate on all the fun you are going to have when you get there. Think of the exciting adventures you are going to be have.
Flying is safer than driving you know!

Ah, a woman after my own heart! I can’t do without the sweet things in life either. I’m not a fan of flying and yet I make the same long trip to France every year, I just keep telling myself it’s a small part of the vacation and I can just grin and bear it.

  15. Vicki @ WITK August 27, 2011 at 6:03 PM - Reply

The pizza place down the street from mt apartment serves nutella pizza, they’ve got HUGE jugs of nutella all around the pizzeria :) And don’t worry, flying is no fun, but it’s the fastest way to get where you’re going!

  16. kita August 27, 2011 at 4:02 PM - Reply

Awww! You’ll be totally ok! I have never minded flying for some reason, I just get easily bored. I would hate to have to sit still for that long… >.>

This nutella pizza does sound super exciting and like a great late night treat. Something that I’d sneak a bite of when no one was looking.

I know that it is absolutely useless to tell you (but I am going to anyway) that the single most dangerous thing you do everyday is to get in your car and drive. Enjoy your trip. Ohhh and that Nutella pizza looks very very delicious. I always have Nutella on hand, it’s a MUST :)

  20. Maya@Foodiva's Kitchen August 26, 2011 at 11:07 PM - Reply

OMG, this pizza looks amazing, Kate! You can get me to fly ANYWHERE if the airlines served this delicious snack on board…LOL.

  21. Jennifer Eloff August 26, 2011 at 4:41 PM - Reply

LOL You’ll be fine. I think everyone gets butterflies but some are more afraid than others – it’s that feeling of not being in control. But flying is very safe compared to driving a car.

Yep, if I was that afraid, I’d be naughty too and have Nutella Pizza. Whoever heard of such a thing? I’m beginning to see people are obsessed with Nutella. I won’t even buy it because besides a migraine that I might get, I could not trust myself with a jar of it in the house. Peanut butter – that’s different, I like it but not like I “like” Nutella. lol

Anyway, before this comment turns into a book, said a prayer for your safe journey. You will be fine, Kate.

    Have a wonderful trip, Kate!

There is nothing like a dessert pizza! Looks delicious!

And yes, I know how you feel.. no matter how much I fly I still get so nervous. On the longer flights I either buy booze beforehand or take some nyquil… Okay so maybe that’s not the healthiest thing to do, but it helps! :)

  55. You know, Food Network Magazine has a spread on the top pizza in each state. I think they should have visited you because this would be near the top. It looks absolutely delicious.

If Dudette could come over to the States from Armenia without so much as a whimper (except when she needed her diaper changed) at 6 months of age, I think you’ll be fine. ;) I suggest Ambien over Xanax though. You’ll sleep the whole trip away so it’ll fly by and you won’t have to worry about jet lag because you’ll be so well rested.
